DEXTER: The Experience - for Paramount+ and Fever - Experiential Marketing/Immersive

Dexter: The Experience was a week-long pop up to promote two new seasons of Dexter launching on Paramount+, produced by Fever globally.

We sourced and ran casting for a wonderful team of 4 actors as well as providing an Event Manager, 5 Game Masters, 3 Front of House leads and 12 Front of House staff.

The event was wildly popular and saw the 2000 tickets claimed in seconds, with thousands more clamouring to attend.

Reviews were astounding - Immersive Rumours called it “One of the strongest examples of this kind of event that we've seen in recent years…a hugely satisfying experience for fans of the show…massively exceeded our expectations”.

CASTING & ACTORS

Pre-event we sourced actors to fit the brief - matching the physicality and energy of two of the show’s real cast, Sarah Michelle Gellar and James Remar - but with the added challenge of needing bags of immersive experience to boot.

We served as Casting Directors, circulating the brief and reviewing self-tapes before sharing them with the client and offering our personal knowledge of the applicants. This resulted in four incredible performers who were an absolute hit with both the client and attendees.

MANAGEMENT STAFF

We provided an Event Manager, who handled the management of our staff, health & safety responsibilities such as fire marshalling, and upline for customer service, collaborating with the stage management team to deliver the best show possible and reporting directly to the Global Production Manager for Fever.

Additionally we provided a FOH Lead on Box Office each day who oversaw entry and managed some complex ticketing issues, arising from extreme demand combined with strict time slots for tickets leading to a number of attendees missing their entry times.

GAME MASTERS

5 of our brilliant Game Masters lead audiences through the themed ‘escape room’ style games, serving both as immersive performers who maintained the world complete with American accents, and who handled time coding, triggering multiple tech queues, facilitating interaction with the games, audience management and resetting the rooms under tight time pressure. They had very limited rehearsal time, and their wealth of experience in similar environments meant they hit the ground running and didn’t stop til they’d crossed the finish line!

FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM

Our brilliant FOH crew gave a start-to-finish service that satisfied both attendees and the clients. Starting outside the complex queuing system was facilitated to make guests feel welcomed and confident; inside the experience our staff initiated the tone change during onboarding to bring guests into the world of Dexter, and maintained the world throughout while deftly handling access requirements and audience management on a strict time code. On egress from the time-coded area they enthusiastically delivered promotional materials and signposted to the themed bar, facilitating a break from the dark tone of the show into the upbeat bar atmosphere without losing the sense of enthusiasm for the world.

Having a team with a wealth of immersive experience is invaluable in these kind of events. With little training time, a crew that just know what is needed both logistically and energetically makes a huge difference to guest experience (and to the stress levels of both management and clients!)
